Kyra Minturn
Kyraminturn Sedgwick was born August 19, 1965. She is an American actor and producer. Her most well-known work is playing the role of the Deputy Chief Brenda Leigh Johnson (TVN crime drama The Closer). Sedgwick received the Golden Globe Award in 2007 for her performance as Johnson and an Emmy Award 2010 for her performance. The show ended on the 13th, 2012 after the conclusion of the seventh season. Sedgwick's recurring role of Madeline Wuntch in the sitcom Brooklyn Nine-Nine is also notable. Sedgwick was nominated for the Golden Globe award in 1995 for her performance on Something to Talk About. Sedgwick's roles in other films include Oliver Stone's Born of the Fourth of July (1989) and Cameron Crowe's The Ones (1992) The Heart and Souls-1993), Phenomenon (1996) and What's cooking (2000) as well as Secondhand Lions (2003). The Game Plan (2007) and The Possession (2013). Sedgwick is the daughter Patricia Rosenwald and is an educator and family therapist, a venture capitalist and Henry Dwight Sedgwick VII, a speech therapist. Her mother, who was Jewish, was of English and Episcopalian descent. Sedgwick declares that she is Jewish and claims she goes to Passover seders.
