Barbara Ann Corcoran

 Barbara Ann Corcoran was a speaker, investor, and businesswoman from the United American. The Corcoran Group was a New York City real estate brokerage she established. NRT purchased it for $66million in 2001. Corcoran later left the business. Corcoran was one of ABC's first Shark investors, has been a part of each episode of Shark Tank. Corcoran had signed 53 contracts in February 2020. Her largest deal was her investment of $350,000 into Coverplay for 40%. Corcoran was the second of a family of 10 children who was born in Edgewater. Florence, her mother, was an excellent household worker. Edwin W. Corcoran Jr. was her father. He was constantly moving between jobs and the next during Corcoran's early years. Sometimes, her family relied upon free food delivery from a local, friendly grocery store. Corcoran recalls her father as a man who often was a drinker and treated her mother with disrespect and sneer, especially after he'd consumed alcohol. Corcoran was a struggling pupil throughout her schooling. She later discovered that she had dyslexia. Corcoran attended a Catholic elementary school, and later began high school in Englewood at St. Cecilia High School. After failing several classes during her first year, Corcoran transferred to Leonia High School, where she received a grade of D.
